Newberry National Volcanic Monument
Obsidian Flow, Museum and Bon Fire…

Today we traveled to the Big Obsidian Flow where we followed the 1 mile trail through the beds. It was a moderate hike, not difficult at all, very beautiful to see the amount of obsidian. It amazed me to see that all this obsidian was there and how it got there and how it cooled so fast to be obsidian.  I personally didn't know that so it was fascinating to me.  We definitely needed to watch our steps and make sure we don't trip or else we would totally end up with deep cuts, even just sitting on them to take a picture was a bit painful but it was about the memories for me so I had to lol.

After we visited the big flow we traveled to the High Desert Museum in Deschutes and go to see different exhibits my favorite there was where the AI experience, as well as the surrounding art in the room.  It was fascinating to me not just about AI but how modern and past art was placed together and things that didn't seem to have gone together but did. I was really happy to see Jaime interested, excited and so focused with this area. To see his passion it art is what I hope to continue to have with Environmental.

We ended the day with dinner back at camp and concluded a group gathering around the fire to express our experience for the last 2 weeks. I was glad to have heard everyone speak, I kept mine really short because I can talk forever so I mentioned some highlights and encouragement for Jaime to keep pursuing art and he can relate that to anything. I also took some really cool pictures of Lance. I never force him to do things and he could always totally tell me no but he always participates in my ideas and I appreciate that lol so enjoy the picture at the bottom, there's much more if you'd like to see them lol.

Off to my baby boys in the morning :,)
